Florian Wirtz’s Secret Meeting with Manchester City in England!
Florian Wirtz, the star of Bayer Leverkusen, traveled to England on Tuesday to meet with representatives of a major club.
According to reports, Florian Wirtz, along with his father Hans and mother Karin, landed at Maastricht Aachen Airport on Tuesday at 18:47 after a secret one-day mission. Their destination: Pep Guardiola in Manchester!
Earlier that day at 10 AM, the Wirtz family flew to England on a twin-engine jet. Their first stop: the coastal city of Blackpool. From there, they drove approximately 70 minutes to Manchester.
What does this mysterious meeting between Leverkusen’s national team star and Manchester City mean? Will Wirtz really move to the Premier League?
The reality is: Bayern Munich remains optimistic about signing their favorite player, either this summer or in 2026. His current contract is valid until 2027.
However, Pep Guardiola is looking for a successor for Kevin De Bruyne, who is on the verge of leaving the club. The wealthy Manchester City, owned by Arab sheikhs, has made an official offer to Bayer Leverkusen—one that is very close to the German club’s €150 million asking price. Leverkusen prefers Wirtz to move abroad if he decides to leave. Bayern Munich currently intends to offer around €100 million.
It is clear that Wirtz’s side also considers Manchester City a serious option. Otherwise, Florian would never have used his day off for such a quick and secretive trip to England.
At 17:40 German time, their private jet took off from Manchester Airport to Maastricht Aachen, where the family car was parked. Apparently, they chose this small airport on the German-Dutch border to avoid attracting attention.
Wirtz’s father exited the terminal alone, shook hands with a Bild reporter, and without any explanation, got into the car to pick up the rest of the family from another airport exit. This 9-hour trip will undoubtedly cause a stir in Munich.
