Arsenal’s Lucrative Offer to Lure Gyokeres
Arsenal plans to make Viktor Gyokeres one of the highest-paid players at the club if they convince him to leave Sporting CP.
According to reports, Mikel Arteta’s team is looking to sign a new striker in the upcoming transfer window, with the Swedish forward emerging as the most likely candidate. However, Arsenal faces significant competition from clubs like Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.
Sporting CP is reportedly demanding over €80 million for the 26-year-old, who has scored 95 goals in 100 appearances for the Portuguese club.
Portuguese outlet A Bola reports that Arsenal has proposed a deal to Gyokeres’ agents, offering an annual net salary of €8.3 million.
This wage package would amount to around €285,000 per week, placing him among Arsenal’s top earners, behind only Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.
Additionally, the Portuguese report claims that Arsenal is willing to offer Gyokeres a four-to-five-year contract.
Although no official bid has been submitted to Sporting CP yet, Gyokeres’ transfer now seems more realistic and cost-effective compared to pursuing Alexander Isak from Newcastle. Isak has been linked with Arsenal for a long time.
After their Champions League semi-final exit and Liverpool’s Premier League triumph in a season where Manchester City underperformed, Arteta and new sporting director Edu have concluded that significant investment in the attack is necessary.
