Partey Wants to Win Trophies with Arteta
Negative Response to Barcelona: Arsenal Star to Stay
Thomas Partey has no interest in wearing Barcelona’s jersey and wishes to continue his career at Arsenal.
According to reports, Partey has entered the final two months of his contract with Arsenal, a club he joined in 2020. As of now, the Ghanaian midfielder will become a free agent on July 1 and can join another club without a transfer fee.
Negotiations for a contract extension have been ongoing throughout the season, with Mikel Arteta keen on retaining Partey in North London. The player has undoubtedly had one of his best seasons with the Gunners, as evidenced by the concern among fans when he missed the first leg of the Champions League semifinal against Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have shown interest in signing Partey, while reports suggest Saudi Arabian clubs are also prepared to offer substantial sums to secure his services this summer.
However, the Evening Standard reports that Partey has decided to stay at Arsenal and even intends to sign a new contract before the end of the Premier League season and the final match against Southampton on May 25, much to the delight of the club’s fans.
Partey feels settled in North London and believes Arsenal are on the verge of winning major trophies. As a result, he wants to continue his journey at the Emirates Stadium under Mikel Arteta’s leadership to help the team achieve its goals.
