Controversial Remarks from Former Nerazzurri President
Inter’s Only Rival is Juventus, Milan is Not a Rival!
Massimo Moratti, former president of Inter, made controversial remarks mocking their city rivals, stating that Inter’s true rival has always been Juventus, not AC Milan.
According to reports, Massimo Moratti, former president of Inter, made sarcastic comments about their city rivals AC Milan, angering Rossoneri fans.
The rivalry between Inter and AC Milan is one of the most intense in football, making the Derby della Madonnina one of the most unique city derbies in the world. However, Moratti downplayed Milan’s significance, stating that Inter’s true rival has always been Juventus. He controversially added: “Remember that team that won the treble and made history? What a glorious Inter side. I congratulate the incredible Inter squad of 1998, who were robbed of the Serie A title due to Juventus’ cheating. Calciopoli was one of the darkest moments in Italian football history, but let’s face the truth—Juventus has always been our main rival in Italy, not Milan.”
Moratti also spoke about Inter’s dramatic comeback against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals: “I couldn’t believe the team would turn it around because, in those moments, it seemed like they had nothing left. Even the fans were disheartened, but Achraf Hakimi scored that exceptional goal, and everyone regained energy. Madness is in Inter’s DNA. The world witnessed this madness once again.”
