Ready for the Double: Galatasaray Wins Turkish Cup
Galatasaray secured a 3-0 victory over Trabzonspor to claim the Turkish Cup title after six years.
According to reports, Galatasaray’s first trophy of the season came with a dominant 3-0 win over Trabzonspor in the Turkish Cup final. The team, led by Okan Buruk, continued their impressive domestic campaign with standout performances from Victor Osimhen.
Just five minutes into the match, Barış Alper Yılmaz opened the scoring for Galatasaray, assisted by Kerem Aktürkoğlu. The first half ended with Galatasaray leading 1-0.
Galatasaray started the second half strongly, with Victor Osimhen doubling their lead in the 46th minute, again assisted by Aktürkoğlu.
Osimhen wasn’t done yet, scoring his second and Galatasaray’s third in the 63rd minute, sealing a comfortable victory and securing their 19th Turkish Cup title.
Galatasaray last won the Turkish Cup in the 2018-19 season. Okan Buruk’s brilliant squad has now broken the six-year drought, bringing the first trophy of the season to the popular Istanbul club.
This morale-boosting victory comes as Galatasaray is set to clinch the Turkish Süper Lig title, sitting above Fenerbahçe with just one win needed in the final three matchdays.
