Unbelievable Damage to Hamburg Stadium After Promotion Celebration
Stunning images of the Volksparkstadion’s condition after Hamburg’s promotion celebrations have emerged.
According to reports, the return of a historic team to the Bundesliga after seven years of absence was celebrated with great excitement—perhaps too much—and this has caused significant damage to the stadium. Police even had to intervene to prevent fans from accessing the locker rooms.
Torn-up grass, broken benches, and ripped-off seat markers are just some of the consequences of fans storming the pitch after the 6-1 victory against Ulm. Additionally, incidents occurred in the city of Hamburg during the celebrations, leaving more than twenty people injured.
However, it must be emphasized that the destruction was caused by extremist groups, and despite the pitch invasion, most fans did not cause any trouble.
