Two Arrested for Extorting Son Heung-min
South Korean police have arrested a man and a woman for extortion and blackmail after Son Heung-min filed a complaint against them.
According to reports, South Korean police have officially confirmed the arrest of a man and a woman for attempting to extort money and making false claims against Son Heung-min, the star forward of Tottenham and captain of the South Korean national team.
As reported by BBC and Korean sources, a 23-year-old woman claimed to have been in a relationship with Son Heung-min last year and even became pregnant by him. She demanded money in exchange for her silence. She had a male accomplice who contacted Son in March to demand payment.
Son’s legal representatives issued a statement: “We have filed a complaint against individuals who attempted to extort Son Heung-min by threatening to spread false information. Police are currently investigating the case, and we will take strict legal action against those who make false claims for extortion.”
The complaint was filed last week, leading to the arrest of the two suspects in Seoul. They remain in custody pending further investigation.
