According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Theo Hernandez, AC Milan’s left-back, has offered himself to Real Madrid, but the Spanish club prefers to sign Alvaro Carreras from Benfica.

Recent rumors suggested Real Madrid’s interest in signing Theo Hernandez, which would have marked the player’s return to the club he left before joining AC Milan.

However, Marca today emphasized that this interest was mostly one-sided, meaning Theo Hernandez tried to insert himself into Real Madrid’s transfer list.

Instead, the Madrid giants have turned their attention to 22-year-old Alvaro Carreras, who previously played for Manchester United’s academy and was sold to Benfica last summer for €6 million.

According to the contract terms, Manchester United retains a buy-back clause until December 31, but Carreras’ contract includes a €50 million release clause.

Meanwhile, the likelihood of Theo Hernandez staying at AC Milan is decreasing, as his contract expires in June 2026, and renewal negotiations have faced difficulties.

AC Milan’s defeat last night in the Coppa Italia final against Bologna may also cost them a Europa League spot, further reducing the club’s budget.
