Sami Khedira:
Bayern Must Learn from Die Mannschaft for Comeback Against Inter!
Sami Khedira, former star of Real Madrid and Juventus, believes Bayern Munich has the ability to stage a comeback against Inter and advance to the UEFA Champions League semifinals.
After a 2-1 defeat in Munich, Bayern needs a decisive victory against Inter to progress to the next stage. Otherwise, their dream of a double title will fade. This won’t be easy. For Sami Khedira, Inter is even one of the main contenders for the title. He spoke about this in an interview with “Kicker.”
Khedira on Inter: “They are smart and experienced, don’t need much possession, know how to fight and defend.”
However, Bayern still has a chance. A 1-0 win could take the game to extra time, and a 2-0 victory would secure direct qualification. For the prestigious German team, it’s achievable if they give their all. Khedira even has specific advice.
He said: “They must avoid small mistakes like those before Inter’s second goal in the first leg, not fall into the opponent’s trap, and never feel overconfident. To break Inter’s defense, they must constantly pressure them, especially with deep runs and quick passes.”
Which team should Bayern emulate?
Germany’s national team! In the match against Italy, Germany displayed its best half since the 7-1 victory over Brazil in 2014.
Khedira explains the secret to success: “You must constantly pressure them and force them to move, just as Germany did in the first half of the 3-3 draw against Italy. That’s when you can strike Inter. But if you let them stay in their tactical discipline, you have no chance.”
Even if Bayern manages to defeat Inter at home, their task won’t get easier. In the semifinals, they will likely face Barcelona under Hansi Flick, as Barça’s qualification seems almost certain after a 4-0 win in the first leg against Dortmund.
According to Khedira, the team led by Bayern’s former coach, alongside Paris Saint-Germain, is one of the main title contenders. He praises Flick: “Hansi has control of the team, given them confidence, and implemented an efficient system. They, along with PSG, are among the top contenders.”
