Luis Enrique: I Have the Best Team in the World
Luis Enrique, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, expressed his happiness after advancing to the Champions League semi-finals, stating his team deserved the qualification.
Paris Saint-Germain faced Aston Villa in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals at Villa Park, losing 3-2 but advancing to the semi-finals with a 4-3 aggregate victory. They now await the winner between Arsenal and Real Madrid.
Despite praising Gianluigi Donnarumma’s performance, who made crucial saves against Unai Emery’s side, Enrique claimed he has the best players in the world.
Enrique told Amazon Prime after the match: “We must not forget this is the Champions League, and the opponent is a high-quality team. Aston Villa played with great energy. Over both legs, we deserved to win. We’ve reached the semi-finals for the second consecutive year and now want to go further.”
On Donnarumma’s brilliance: “I think we have the best squad in the world, not just the best goalkeeper. At a club like PSG, you have many top-quality players. This is football, this is competition.”
On trailing during the match: “Were we stressed when we fell behind? At that moment, they had nothing to lose, having lost the first leg and trailing in the first half. The stadium atmosphere was incredible.”
