Carlos Tevez:
I will bring Ronaldo and Messi to my farewell match!
Carlos Tevez, the former Manchester United and Argentina star, has big plans for his farewell match.
According to reports, Tevez revealed his dream of having two of football’s greatest legends, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, join him at La Bombonera for his farewell match, which will honor his nearly two-decade-long professional career.
Tevez played alongside Messi for over a decade in the Argentina national team. Their first major tournament together was the 2006 World Cup in Germany, and they also shared the pitch in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and three Copa America tournaments (2007, 2011, and 2015).
Tevez’s connection with Ronaldo dates back to his memorable stint at Manchester United between 2007 and 2009. Alongside Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, he formed one of the most dangerous attacking trios of that era. Together, they brought major trophies to Old Trafford, including back-to-back Premier League titles, the 2008 UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Tevez told Olga about his dream lineup for the farewell match: “Leo Messi, Cristiano… I will bring them. I will go and get them myself. I have their numbers on WhatsApp.”
He also mentioned several other star players he hopes to reunite with for the occasion. From his time at Manchester United, he named Wayne Rooney, Edwin van der Sar, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidić, and Patrice Evra. From his Italian chapter, he expressed his desire to have Juventus legends Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, and Gianluigi Buffon.
The Argentine forward said: “Van der Sar on one side of the goal and Buffon on the other. In defense, probably Rio Ferdinand, Vidić… Chiellini and Bonucci will also be there. Patrice Evra, my brother, must be there. Midfielders… Andrea Pirlo, Paul Scholes, Juan Román Riquelme will definitely come. Along with Rooney.”
