Failed Chip by Saka: Courtois Saves Real Madrid (Photo)
Bukayo Saka’s chipped penalty attempt against Real Madrid was saved by Thibaut Courtois, keeping the match goalless.
The crucial UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg between Real Madrid and Arsenal remained goalless until the 20th minute, with Mikel Arteta’s side missing a golden opportunity to take the lead after Bukayo Saka’s penalty was saved by Thibaut Courtois.
Despite Real Madrid’s stronger start, Arsenal won a corner in the 11th minute. The ball was cleared, but after a VAR review, a clear foul by Raúl Asensio on an Arsenal attacker resulted in a penalty.
Saka, however, made the worst possible decision by attempting a soft chipped penalty straight at Courtois, who read the move and palmed it away, keeping the score level.
