Lautaro Martinez, Inter Milan’s striker, says his team will be ready for the crucial match against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

Lautaro Martinez's Message to Barcelona: Inter Will Not Surrender

Lautaro Martinez praised his team’s courage after Inter eliminated Bayern Munich and advanced to the Champions League semi-finals against Barcelona. He said: “We will not surrender; we move forward with our minds and hearts.”

This duel was fiercely contested over two legs. Despite Bayern Munich drawing 2-2 in the second leg, Inter progressed due to their 2-1 victory in the first leg.

Harry Kane’s angled shot sparked a thrilling comeback, but within nine minutes, Lautaro Martinez and Benjamin Pavard turned the game around. Eric Dier’s headed goal from a strange angle leveled the score at 2-2, but Inter held on to reach the semi-finals, where they will face Barcelona.

Lautaro Martinez told Amazon Prime Video Italy:“This match was truly epic and will stay in our memories for a long time because Inter showed great courage. We worked hard for this qualification and made many sacrifices. We will not surrender; we move forward with our minds and hearts. Yes, there were moments when we were under pressure, but we can dream big now.”

This is Inter’s second Champions League semi-final in three years. They lost to Manchester City in the 2023 final, finishing as runners-up.

Additionally, Inter still has a chance to win a treble, as they lead Serie A and prepare for the Coppa Italia semi-final against AC Milan next week.

Lautaro added:“Every season, we start with the belief that we can win everything—otherwise, we wouldn’t be playing football. I thank the coaching staff, my teammates, and the fans, who are our 12th man.”

Now, Inter will face Barcelona, a team that defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-0 in the first leg but lost 3-1 in the second. Lautaro said: “They are a great opponent with a glorious history. We must focus on the next game, and then we can think about the Champions League.”
