Asian Player of the Year Comes to Al-Hilal’s Rescue Again
Al-Hilal secured a victory over Al-Khaleej thanks to Salem Al-Dawsari’s outstanding performance.
In the 28th round of the Saudi Pro League, Al-Hilal delivered a dominant performance, defeating Al-Khaleej 3-0 to keep their title hopes alive.
With this crucial win, Al-Hilal reached 61 points, narrowing the gap with league leaders Al-Ittihad to just four points. Jorge Jesus’ squad now awaits Al-Ittihad’s potential slip-up in their upcoming match against Al-Fateh to strengthen their championship aspirations.
The first goal came in the 26th minute after a brilliant one-two between Salem Al-Dawsari and Caio, with Al-Dawsari finishing precisely into the corner to put Al-Hilal ahead.
Later, in the 81st minute, Al-Dawsari struck again. After receiving a perfectly weighted pass from Aleksandar Mitrović, he controlled the ball expertly inside the box and slotted home Al-Hilal’s second goal.
In the 88th minute, Mitrović got on the scoresheet himself. A deep pass from Ruben Neves set him up for a one-on-one with the goalkeeper, and he calmly placed the ball into the net for Al-Hilal’s third goal.
Al-Khaleej managed to score late, but the goal was ruled out for offside, ensuring Al-Hilal’s emphatic 3-0 victory and keeping them in the title race.
