With six weeks remaining in the Premier League season, Liverpool needs just two more wins to secure their first English title since the 2019/2020 season.

However, Diogo Jota, Liverpool’s Portuguese forward, emphasized the crucial nature of every match in the final stretch of the season, stating ahead of their upcoming match against Leicester City: “We’ve reached a stage in the season where getting three points is more important than playing well. Every game now is a final.”

Jota believes team spirit will make the difference in this decisive phase. He added: “All players have played many matches or faced physical challenges like me. We have a full week before each game to prepare and ensure we perform at our best. Now, everything depends on our mental strength.”

A win against Leicester could spark early title celebrations if Liverpool defeats their hosts and Ipswich Town overcomes Arsenal.

Ahead of a match that could crown Liverpool champions in Arne Slot’s first season in England, Jota praised the Dutch manager: “There’s no magic, just hard work behind these results. The credit goes to the coach, who made us believe in his ideas. The results gradually appeared, and this gave everyone confidence.”

Despite admitting that Arne Slot and Liverpool have exceeded expectations, Jota issued a warning to his teammates: “Until the job is done, these discussions don’t matter much. We must take every game seriously until the title is mathematically secured, so we can’t afford to underestimate any match.”
