According to reports, Diego Martinez, the head coach of Las Palmas, praised Diego Simeone, his counterpart at Atletico Madrid, ahead of their upcoming La Liga match on Saturday, calling him one of the “greatest in history” in the world of coaching.

Martinez said in a press conference: “He (Simeone) is one of the greatest managers in history—on the same level as Guardiola, Klopp, and Tuchel.”

He recalled that “El Cholo” (Simeone’s nickname) has managed Atletico Madrid in over 700 official matches, achieving a 60% win rate—a remarkable feat—and added: “These statistics speak for themselves.”

The Las Palmas coach also highlighted Atletico Madrid’s strengths, saying: “When Atletico is at their best, they are an extremely hard-working and resilient team, and even when they are not at their peak, they still force you to perform at your best. Atletico is one of the best teams in La Liga and Europe.”
