    Nikola Pokrivač, former defensive midfielder of Dinamo Zagreb, passed away this morning at the age of 40 due to a car accident in Croatia.

    According to reports, Nikola Pokrivač, former Croatian national team player, died this morning in a car accident in the Kalovač region. Three others were severely injured in the incident.

    Nikola Pokrivač, 40, began his football career with Varteks Croatia before moving to Dinamo Zagreb. After excelling in the 2007-08 season, he joined Monaco and later Red Bull Salzburg before returning to Dinamo Zagreb. He recently retired from football to pursue coaching.

    Pokrivač was also a member of the Croatian national team from 2008 to 2010, making 15 appearances for his country.

    His achievements include three Croatian league titles with Dinamo Zagreb, one Austrian league title with Red Bull Salzburg, and four Croatian Cup victories.

    He also played under Branko Ivanković, former Iran national team and Persepolis coach, during the 2006-07 season at Dinamo Zagreb.
