Could Saka Be Lost for Several More Months?
Red Card for Foul That Almost Gave Arsenal a Heart Attack!
The red card shown to Leif Davis for his reckless challenge on Bukayo Saka does little to ease Arsenal’s worries. The Gunners are deeply concerned about their star player, who has just returned from injury.
According to reports, Arsenal’s away match against Ipswich Town started brilliantly, with everything going smoothly until the 32nd minute when an incident occurred that has been a major concern for Mikel Arteta and the Gunners: Bukayo Saka’s injury.
Arsenal led 2-0 in the first half thanks to goals from Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, but just four minutes after the second goal, Ipswich right-back Leif Davis was sent off for a reckless challenge on Saka. Davis, near the halfway line, targeted Saka’s calf from behind without making any attempt to play the ball, leaving him writhing in pain.
This was the worst-case scenario for Arsenal. When the TV cameras zoomed in on Mikel Arteta’s face, the sheer worry in his eyes was evident. Although Saka returned to the pitch and Arsenal had an easier task after Davis’ dismissal, all Gunners fans are now anxiously waiting to see if Saka will continue in the second half or if Arteta will substitute him.
Bukayo Saka, who has been Arsenal’s driving force since returning from injury, came back less than three weeks ago after a lengthy absence. Saka, who was injured in the match against Crystal Palace in late December, missed three months before returning on April 2 against Fulham. A serious injury could deal a major blow to Arsenal’s Champions League hopes. The Gunners, having eliminated Real Madrid, are now in the semifinals and will face Paris Saint-Germain.
