The high-scoring match between Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach in the 30th week of the Bundesliga ended with a 3-2 victory for Niko Kovac’s students at Signal Iduna Park.
According to reports, Borussia Dortmund narrowly defeated Gladbach 3-2 in the 30th week of the Bundesliga, moving Kovac’s team to 7th place with 45 points while Gladbach remained in 9th place with 44 points.
The match started with Gladbach’s better performance as they dominated possession from the beginning and created dangerous scoring opportunities. However, Gregor Kobel’s brilliance prevented Dortmund from conceding early.
Gladbach’s efforts paid off in the 24th minute when Japanese forward Ko Itakura scored the opening goal.
After this goal, Dortmund increased pressure on Gladbach’s defense, leading to complete dominance in the final 15 minutes of the first half.
Dortmund’s consecutive attacks in the last five minutes created one of the most exciting comebacks of the Bundesliga season. Serhou Guirassy equalized in the 41st minute, followed by goals from Felix Nmecha and Daniel Svensson to make it 3-1 before halftime.
In the second half, Gladbach regained control, and Kevin Stöger reduced the deficit from the penalty spot in the 56th minute, reigniting the match’s tension.
Despite Gladbach’s continued pressure, Kovac’s team managed the game well and secured three valuable points with defensive substitutions.
