Shoulder to Shoulder with European Giants
The Most Similar to Mourinho’s Inter: They Will Win the Treble
Julio Cesar, former Inter goalkeeper, spoke to Tuttosport about the possibility of Inter repeating the treble like in 2010.
Julio Cesar, who was a key figure in Mourinho’s Inter and won numerous honors with the Nerazzurri, said: “I don’t like comparisons. I can say we took advantage of the opportunities that came our way, and I think the current Inter players should do the same. This team is very strong, the most similar to ours, and can compete with all the European giants. The final in Istanbul two years ago, where I believe Inter deserved to win, sparked something in the team. Now Inter is an established force, and the players are aware of their strength.”
The symbol of that team was Diego Milito. The Brazilian goalkeeper commented on whether Lautaro Martinez can follow in his footsteps: “Diego had an exceptional moment that will be remembered forever because he scored in all the decisive matches. Lautaro is now a legend, an incredibly strong player, a leader, and a captain. We’ll see—everyone has their own story.”
He concluded by discussing the Club World Cup, in which Inter and Juventus will participate: “Can they win? It’s hard to predict. If Inter are in good form, they can go all the way. As for Juve, I don’t know—it’s a question mark. They’ve had many problems this season, sacked their coach, and now a new coach with different methods has arrived. Time is needed to build cohesion, and in that regard, Inter is naturally ahead.”
