According to reports, Borussia Dortmund is planning to bring back Marco Reus, their beloved legend, as a brand ambassador and club representative. The club’s executive recently revealed details of this major decision.

Carsten Kramer, Borussia Dortmund’s executive, unexpectedly announced during a FIFA Club World Cup promotional tour: “I’m announcing this now—we intend to add someone to the club who is currently playing in the MLS.”

Marco Reus, the 35-year-old German star, left Dortmund last summer after 12 brilliant years with the club and joined Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS.

He won the league title in his first season in the U.S. His current contract with the American club runs until December 2026.

Shortly after leaving Edin Terzić’s squad, Reus hinted at a possible return to Signal Iduna Park, saying: “When you see so many familiar faces there and have such a deep connection with the club, you’d have to be very foolish not to want to return someday.”

Until recently, Marco Reus’s exact role and position in Borussia Dortmund’s future plans were unclear. However, it now appears he will soon resume his activities as the club’s ambassador and promotional figure, strengthening his bond with Dortmund’s passionate fans.

Previously, popular and successful figures like Patrick Owomoyela, Karl-Heinz Riedle, Jörg Heinrich, and Roman Weidenfeller have held similar roles at Dortmund, working as brand ambassadors to elevate the club’s global status and popularity.
