Reason for Paris Star’s Absence Ahead of Arsenal Clash
Achraf Hakimi was rested by Luis Enrique for the match against Nantes to manage his physical condition.
According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain, who have already secured the Ligue 1 title, drew 1-1 against Nantes in a low-stakes match. However, Hakimi’s unexpected absence raised eyebrows and sparked rumors about a potential injury.
French journalist Fabrice Hawkins has claimed that Hakimi was simply rested by Luis Enrique to manage his workload ahead of crucial upcoming fixtures. Hawkins confirmed that the Moroccan defender is not injured and there are no issues between him and the manager.
This decision was made solely to rest and prepare Hakimi for key upcoming matches, including the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Arsenal next week and the Coupe de France final.
Paris Saint-Germain now have the chance to become the first team in Ligue 1 history to complete an entire season unbeaten. The draw against Nantes was their sixth of the season. They have secured 24 wins so far and are just four matches away from making history.
