In the poll conducted on WhatsApp, Instagram, and Twitter (X), 55.5% of participants voted for Rodrigo to start. A total of 9,976 people responded to AS’s question: “Given Rodrigo’s current form—scoring just once in his last 22 games—is starting him in the Copa del Rey final a good idea?” Of these, 5,534 chose “Yes, he should play,” while 4,442 selected “No, he should be on the bench.”

On WhatsApp, which had the highest participation, 63.7% supported Rodrigo’s inclusion, but on X, 74.7% opposed his starting role. However, lower participation on X reduced the impact of negative votes on the overall result.

Rodrigo has not scored since March 4, when he netted the opening goal in the Champions League round of 16 first leg against Atlético Madrid. Since then, he has only registered one assist in the Copa del Rey semifinal second leg against Real Sociedad. Despite his goal drought, Rodrigo’s defensive efforts have kept him a regular starter under Ancelotti.
