Conceicao: My Wife Was Happy About Inter's Elimination

According to reports, Sergio Conceicao, after his team’s convincing 3-0 victory over Inter in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final, said he had a feeling beforehand that his team could eliminate their historic rivals.

With this win and a 4-1 aggregate victory, AC Milan advanced to the final of the competition, where they will await the winner of the Bologna vs. Empoli match.

Conceicao told Sport Mediaset after the match: “Since the game against Atalanta, I had this feeling that we could eliminate Inter. Small details are very important. I liked the team’s mentality, defensive compactness, and attacking play.”

He added about the match: “We struggled a bit in the early minutes but eventually scored. We corrected a few things at halftime, and in the second half, our level was really high. The team has quality, humility, and a desire to win every match.”

Conceicao also praised the performances of his two strikers, Luka Jovic and Tammy Abraham. Jovic scored a brace in this match, taking his goal tally to 4 in the last five games.

The Milan manager said: “Luka has worked very well in the last three or four weeks and has even lost some weight. He gave the team exactly what we needed for this match. He didn’t give Inter’s center-backs any space, and that’s what we needed.”

He also expressed confidence in his other forwards: “We trust the others too. Tammy could also be decisive in another game. The selection depends on each player’s characteristics. Tammy came on against Udinese and responded very well. Everyone always gives their best.”

Conceicao concluded by talking about reaching the final: “I love football. I suffer more than most, and I take football home with me—so my wife will definitely be happy with this result! But we haven’t won anything yet. We have to play in the final and finish the season with a performance that reflects well on us. We have more quality than what we’ve shown so far.”
