Klopp’s Big Choice: Thierry Henry to Become RB Leipzig’s Coach!
Jürgen Klopp, head of football at Red Bull, is considering Thierry Henry to take charge of RB Leipzig in the upcoming season.
According to reports, RB Leipzig has Thierry Henry in mind as their new head coach. French sources indicate that Jürgen Klopp and Leipzig’s management have chosen Henry as their top candidate for the position.
Initial contact has reportedly been made between Red Bull executives and Thierry Henry’s representatives, with a preliminary meeting scheduled in the coming days.
With Henry’s arrival, not only would a prominent figure in football join Leipzig, but the 47-year-old coach also has a long history with the Red Bull organization. He played for the New York Red Bulls between 2010 and 2015, ending his professional career there.
Henry began his coaching career in 2018 with AS Monaco. In 2023, he took charge of the France U21 national team, leading them to a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Afterward, he stepped down from the role.
In recent years, Henry has also worked as a television pundit, providing analysis for the American network CBS.
Following the dismissal of Marco Rose, RB Leipzig is currently managed by Zoltán Lőw. However, his future beyond this season remains uncertain. Recent rumors have also suggested that Cesc Fàbregas could be appointed as Leipzig’s new coach.
Fàbregas and Henry share a past at FC Barcelona. Additionally, Henry is an investor in the Italian club Como, which is currently managed by Fàbregas.
