Racist Abuse Case Closed
Real Madrid and Vinícius Júnior Furious Over Barcelona Court’s Decision!
A court in Barcelona has dismissed the case of racist abuse by Barcelona fans against Vinícius Júnior. Vinícius and La Liga have announced they will appeal the decision.
A judge in Barcelona handling the case of two Barcelona fans accused of racially abusing Vinícius Júnior has closed the case today.
The case dates back to the October 2023 El Clásico at the Montjuïc Stadium. The judge ruled that the insults by Barcelona fans against Vinícius did not constitute a hate crime and that Vinícius himself did not hear the chants. As a result, the judge dismissed the case and barred further prosecution of the fans.
However, lawyers for Real Madrid, Vinícius Júnior, and La Liga are outraged by the decision. They announced they would immediately appeal the ruling.
Vinícius’s and Real Madrid’s lawyers presented recorded audio of the chants and CCTV footage to the court, demanding the conviction of the two identified fans. The fans denied the allegations, with one claiming not to have shouted abusive chants and the other stating they were protesting refereeing decisions.
