Osmar: Al-Ahli was strong, I apologize to the fans
Buriram United’s head coach apologized to the fans after the defeat against Al-Ahli and elimination from the AFC Champions League.
Brazilian coach Osmar Losviria of Buriram United apologized to the fans after a 3-0 loss to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli, which eliminated them from the AFC Champions League quarter-finals.
Osmar stated in the post-match press conference: “We performed well in the second half, but overall the match was not good for us, and I apologize to our fans.”
The former Persepolis coach added: “This match was an opportunity to prepare for the future. We have young players, and such experiences are very important for them. We also have plans for upcoming league matches.”
He said: “I spoke with the players at halftime to try to speed up the game’s rhythm. Al-Ahli is a very strong team, and we tried to learn from this experience.”
Osmar added: “Of course, we knew from the beginning that we would be under pressure. Al-Ahli is an outstanding team with a large fanbase that played a big role in their success.”
He also emphasized that after elimination from the AFC Champions League, his team would focus on winning the Thai League title and complained about the pressure from fixture congestion and simultaneous participation in multiple competitions.
