Japanese Goalkeeper’s Gift: Ronaldo’s 934th Goal!
Al-Nassr’s third goal against Yokohama F. Marinos came from a major mistake by the Japanese goalkeeper and a left-footed strike by Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to reports, Al-Nassr seems to have secured their place in the AFC Champions League semifinals after a dominant 3-0 victory under Stefano Pioli. Only one half remains for the Saudi side to become the third Arab team to reach the final four of Asia’s elite competition.
Unlike their domestic performances, Al-Nassr started aggressively against last season’s J-League champions, Yokohama F. Marinos, scoring their first two goals in the 27th and 31st minutes through Jean-David Beauguel and Sadio Mané.
The third goal for the Riyadh-based club was scored by their star captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, who capitalized on Yokohama’s defensive errors to net his eighth goal in the AFC Champions League.
The goal came after a brilliant run by Otávio, who dribbled past multiple Yokohama defenders in the 38th minute before delivering a low cross into the box. Ronaldo’s presence forced a deflection, leading to a weak clearance by the goalkeeper, allowing Ronaldo to tap in Al-Nassr’s third goal.
This goal takes the Portuguese superstar’s career tally to 934, with another half still to play. However, Pioli may decide to rest the 40-year-old captain in the second half.
