Gary Neville:
Liverpool’s Victory at Old Trafford Will Cause an Earthquake!
Gary Neville, Manchester United legend, says Liverpool’s title win will end the debate about the most successful club in English football history.
According to reports, Liverpool only needs a draw against Tottenham at Anfield to secure the Premier League title with four weeks remaining in the season.
If Liverpool wins, it will be their second Premier League title and their 20th top-flight English league title, equaling Manchester United’s record.
However, Gary Neville believes Liverpool’s superiority in European competitions, with six Champions League titles compared to Manchester United’s three, decisively tips the balance in favor of Arne Slot’s team.
Gary Neville told Sky Sports: “You have to respect the team that wins the title; they have been the best team. This is one of the greatest managerial performances we have seen, but today is a bitter day.”
He added about the significance of Liverpool reaching 20 league titles: “This is hugely significant. As long as Manchester United held 20 league titles, there was room for debate about which club was more successful. Liverpool has more European trophies, but it’s painful to say: this debate is over unless Manchester United regains success and wins the league again.
This should cause an earthquake at Old Trafford. After today, Liverpool will be the most successful club, and that should cause pain. It took us a very long time to overtake Liverpool, and now that advantage is gone.”
Arne Slot, who replaced Jürgen Klopp last summer, has led Liverpool to 37 wins in his first 51 matches as manager, bringing the team close to this historic achievement.
