Javier Mascherano:
Don’t worry, Messi is fine!
Javier Mascherano confirmed that Lionel Messi has no injuries or pain.
Lionel Messi was absent during Inter Miami’s thrilling match against FC Dallas at Chase Stadium, which took place late last night Iran time. Inter Miami was leading 3-1 at one point in the game, but three goals in 17 minutes turned the tide for the team.
Inter Miami’s loss ended their unbeaten streak this season in the MLS competition, while Messi has been regularly resting during matches. Luis Suárez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets also did not play in this match against Dallas.
Messi’s playing time has been carefully managed as the Argentine star has been dealing with muscle issues. However, he currently has no injuries and should be ready to play in the second leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup semifinal against Vancouver Whitecaps.
Mascherano, when asked about Messi’s condition, told reporters: “Leo is fine. Naturally, we decided not to play him, like many of his teammates, after the match against Vancouver, where we had to travel six to seven hours and play on artificial turf. But he’s fine, he trained today and is ready.”
