Virgil van Dijk Sets Date for Contract Extension!
Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool’s star today, said after the own goal by Andrew Robertson, for which he was also at fault, there was little time left to make amends, but he succeeded in doing so.
Virgil van Dijk had a strange night at Anfield. He was at fault for the own goal scored by Robertson but managed to score a brilliant header in the last minute of regulation time to secure Liverpool’s second goal, bringing the Reds closer to the title.
Van Dijk answered the big question from fans in an interview with Sky Sports: When will you extend your contract? Especially given that Mohamed Salah, who recently extended his contract for two years, was beside him. The Liverpool captain said: “Everyone knows how much I love this club. Let’s see what happens in the next week.”
The Sky reporter asked him about Robertson’s own goal and whether Van Dijk considered himself responsible. Van Dijk replied: “I could hear Robertson shouting behind me. There was very little time left to make amends, but thank God I succeeded.”
The Liverpool captain was asked about the upcoming matches and the title. He replied: “On to the next game. I’m very happy to have played my 100th game as Liverpool captain. We are now one step closer to our dreams. Today was an emotional day for me.”
