Real Madrid’s Fury with Ancelotti
Ancelotti’s Agreement with Brazil on the Verge of Collapse!
Real Madrid has opposed Carlo Ancelotti’s departure before the Club World Cup, and the Italian coach’s agreement with the Brazilian Football Confederation is now on the verge of collapse.
According to reports, a major shift is occurring in Carlo Ancelotti’s future. While everything seemed set for the Italian coach to take charge of Brazil—with expectations that he would lead the Seleção in their June 6 match against Ecuador in the South American qualifiers—the agreement is now at risk of falling apart.
Real Madrid reportedly does not want Ancelotti to leave before the Club World Cup, which directly conflicts with the Brazilian Football Confederation’s plans. CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues urgently needs a head coach and cannot wait until the end of the season or the Club World Cup.
Recent developments have been crucial in creating this deadlock. Real Madrid is furious that Ancelotti returned to Madrid today with a Brazilian Football Confederation representative after finalizing details in London for his post-La Liga move. Poor timing can disrupt agreements, and that appears to be happening now.
Real Madrid had been monitoring the situation closely. They were aware that Ancelotti’s tenure at the club was nearing its end, even though he still has one year left on his contract. As a precaution, Santiago Solari was informed—as happened last November—that he would be the interim manager if Ancelotti left before the Club World Cup. Inside and outside the club, it was almost taken for granted that Ancelotti would leave after La Liga, with Solari acting as a bridge between Ancelotti and Xabi Alonso, the leading candidate for Real Madrid’s future. However, if this scenario collapses—which now seems highly likely—everything will be thrown into uncertainty.
The newspaper ‘O Globo’ even reported that Ancelotti would be in Rio de Janeiro on May 26 to announce the squad list for matches against Ecuador and Paraguay. But now, the transfer has become highly complicated, with little time left to salvage it. The Brazilian Football Confederation needs a coach immediately and cannot wait until the end of the season or the Club World Cup.
Currently, both sides remain at an impasse.
