According to reports, Jancker has taken over Austria Klagenfurt, replacing Peter Pacult, nearly four months after leaving DSV Leoben. The team has gone five consecutive matches without a win, losing four of those five games. In the Austrian Bundesliga, the club has only managed six wins in 28 matches this season.

Jancker said yesterday: “I respect this responsibility, but I am also very excited and honored that Austria Klagenfurt has trusted me during this challenging period. My first priority, along with my coaching staff, is to restore the players’ confidence and belief in their abilities. They have already proven their quality. We must play with passion and courage—only then will we succeed.”

Jancker’s contract is initially valid until the end of the current season. Interestingly, his salary will be paid by the club’s sponsor! Helmut Kaltnegger, the club’s sponsor, told Kronen Zeitung: “It was my suggestion that Carsten be appointed, but it was not a condition for the club. I don’t tell the club owner who to choose.

Things moved very quickly—Austria Wien contacted me and asked if Jancker would be available immediately. Jancker is under contract with TGI AG, and his salary is paid by us, so it’s not a major expense for Austria Wien. Jancker plays modern football, communicates well with players, and will bring fresh energy to the team.”

His first official match will be this Friday against Grazer AK. His first training session was held on Monday. Jancker previously managed DSV Leoben until January but resigned due to financial issues. As a player, he represented clubs such as Köln, Rapid Wien, Kaiserslautern, and Bayern Munich. With Bayern, he won the Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League, and Intercontinental Cup. He also earned 33 caps for the German national team.
