Enric Masip, one of Joan Laporta’s trusted advisors, angered both the Spanish Referees Committee and Real Madrid fans in a recent interview. He alleged that whenever Barcelona finds success, the referees’ committee does everything to undermine the club, claiming there is a specific reason behind these actions.

Masip told Onda Cero: “Real Madrid exerts unbearable pressure on referees. If I were a referee, I’d probably be terrified and think, ‘Let me whistle in a way that makes them leave me alone.'”

Regarding the Copa del Rey final tensions, he added: “Real Madrid staged a clean show, saying they wouldn’t play. I had no doubt they’d come—it was all an act. The issue is that whenever Barça performs brilliantly, they start obstructing. Just like how they pushed the Negreira case to deceive many. In the Copa del Rey final, we saw them resort to non-football weapons—violence and attacking the referee. When a team resorts to such tactics, it means they’ve lost the footballing battle.”

He then targeted the Spanish Referees Committee: “Throughout history, most leaders of this committee have been Real Madrid supporters—not just ordinary fans, but official members of Real Madrid.”
