A stunning move and an incredible goal
Marcus Thuram shocks Barcelona in 33 seconds! (Photo)
Marcus Thuram scored in the 33rd second of the crucial match against Barcelona in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
According to reports, the match against Inter Milan started in the worst possible way for Barcelona. While Lamine Yamal, despite groin pain that forced him to leave training before the match, was included in the starting lineup, Simone Inzaghi’s team poured cold water on the current Copa del Rey champions by scoring the first goal in the 33rd second.
After a delivery towards Barcelona’s goal, following an impact from Jules Koundé, the ball went towards the right flank, where Denzel Dumfries sent a precise cross into the center of the penalty area. There, Iñigo Martínez slipped badly and couldn’t stop the shot from Marcus Thuram. This beautiful technical shot from the French striker went into the net, and Wojciech Szczęsny could do nothing about it.
Marcus Thuram, son of Lilian Thuram, has returned to the team after an injury that caused him to miss Inter’s last three matches; three matches that ended in defeats against Bologna (1-0), AC Milan (3-0) in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals, and Roma (1-0). This goal is Thuram’s fourth in 12 UEFA Champions League matches this season, and he now holds the record for the fastest goal in Champions League semi-final history.
