World Cup Final Referee for Inter vs Barcelona Champions League Return Leg
Poland’s Simon Marciniak has been appointed to officiate the return leg of the Champions League semi-final between Inter Milan and Barcelona.
According to reports, UEFA has appointed Simon Marciniak, the experienced Polish referee, to officiate the return leg between Inter Milan and Barcelona at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.
Marciniak has previously refereed two matches between Inter and Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, both of which ended in draws. Interestingly, in the last five Barcelona matches officiated by Marciniak, the Catalan club has failed to secure a victory.
On the other hand, Inter Milan have fared better under Marciniak’s refereeing, winning two of their last five matches with him in charge.
Marciniak is also scheduled to referee the Polish Cup final between Cracovia and Lechia Gdańsk next Sunday and will travel to Milan just one day after that match to officiate the crucial clash between Inter and Barcelona.
Interestingly, Marciniak was in charge of Al-Nassr’s match in the Saudi Pro League last week and will now prepare for one of the most high-profile fixtures of his career.
