According to reports, Sassuolo had been a consistent presence in Italy’s top division over the past decade, but their 11-year streak was broken last summer when they were relegated.

However, their absence was short-lived, as they secured promotion back to Serie A for the 2025-26 season with several weeks remaining in the current campaign.

Under the guidance of Fabio Grosso, Sassuolo celebrated promotion with five matchdays left after Spezia’s 2-2 draw against Mantova confirmed their return.

Sassuolo has led the Serie B table for most of the season, accumulating 75 points from 33 matches—23 wins, six draws, and four losses. They also boast the league’s best attack with 73 goals scored while conceding 34.

The only team mathematically capable of preventing Sassuolo from winning the Serie B title is Pisa, but they trail by nine points and have little chance of stopping Sassuolo’s triumph.

Currently, in the Serie B standings, Pisa sits second with 66 points, followed by Spezia in third with 59 points.
