Another Comeback for the Championship
Valladolid 1 – Barcelona 2: Real Madrid Under Pressure!
Barcelona came from behind in the second half to defeat Real Valladolid 2-1, moving one step closer to the La Liga title.
According to reports, Hans-Dieter Flick rested many of his key players ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg against Inter Milan at San Siro, which led to a 1-0 deficit in the first half. However, after substitutions in the second half, Barcelona managed to overturn the lead of the already-relegated Valladolid and secure a 2-1 away victory.
Lineups:
Valladolid: Ferreira, Koundé, Koumetio, Aznou, Yurich, Amallah, Anwar, Sánchez, Moro, Sylla
Barcelona: ter Stegen, Martín, Christensen, Araújo, Fort, Gavi, Pedri, Dani Rodríguez, Fati, Fermín, Víctor
Just six minutes into the game, Valladolid scored in their first attack, with Marc-André ter Stegen, returning from an ACL injury, seeing his goal breached early.
Barcelona, missing several key players including Lamine Yamal and Raphinha (who were on the bench), pushed forward, but Víctor’s header went over the bar.
Moments later, Valladolid had another great chance, but ter Stegen comfortably saved Moro’s shot. In the 30th minute, Ansu Fati attempted a shot after unsettling the defense, but Ferreira saved it. Two minutes later, Dani Rodríguez, making his debut for Barcelona, suffered a shoulder injury and was replaced by Lamine Yamal.
Despite Yamal’s presence, no serious chances were created before halftime.
Less than 10 minutes into the second half, Yamal’s cross, after a deflection by Valladolid’s goalkeeper, reached Raphinha, who tapped it in to level the score at 1-1.
Six minutes later, Fermín López scored the second goal, giving Barcelona a comfortable lead. Gerard Martín set up the goal with a cross, and Fermín finished precisely past Ferreira.
In the 69th minute, after a clever pass from Yamal, Héctor Fort’s shot hit the post and fell to the goalkeeper. Valladolid had their first real chance of the second half in the 74th minute, but ter Stegen saved Moro’s cross.
Barcelona continued to dominate, maintaining their 2-1 lead. With this win, the Blaugrana now lead the table with 79 points, awaiting Real Madrid’s result against Celta Vigo on Sunday.

6′ Ivan Sánchez: The ball deflected off Araújo and looped over ter Stegen.
54′ Raphinha: Yamal’s cross was poorly cleared by Ferreira, allowing Raphinha to score.
