Francisco Conceição Not Returning to Porto
Father and Son Reunite at Milan
Tuttosport reports that AC Milan is looking to sign Francisco Conceição from Juventus, where he will once again work under his father, Sérgio Conceição.
Reports from Italy suggest that Juventus is unwilling to pay the €30 million required to permanently sign Francisco Conceição. The young Portuguese star has now found a serious suitor—his father’s team, AC Milan.
Sérgio Conceição spent years managing Porto before moving to Milan to take charge of the Rossoneri. During his time at Porto, he coached his son Francisco. Portuguese media criticized the move, alleging nepotism, but Francisco proved his worth by becoming one of Porto’s key players before joining Juventus.
Tuttosport reports that Milan is serious about signing Francisco. While Roma is also interested, the young Portuguese prefers joining a team managed by his father.
Conceição is currently on loan from Porto to Juventus, with the Bianconeri needing to pay €30 million to make the deal permanent. However, neither Juventus is willing to pay the fee nor does Francisco wish to return to Porto. His agent, Jorge Mendes, is currently in Italy negotiating his permanent move to Milan.
