Arsenal’s Lucky Break: New Injury in Paris Camp
Lee Kang-in is unlikely to be available for Paris Saint-Germain in the match against Arsenal due to injury.
According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain secured a 1-0 victory over Arsenal in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals with a goal from Ousmane Dembélé at the Emirates Stadium. The match took place last Tuesday, and the return leg will be held next Wednesday in Paris.
PSG returned to Ligue 1 action on Saturday but suffered a 2-1 defeat against Strasbourg. With their league title already secured, manager Luis Enrique fielded a completely different lineup, making 10 changes from the match against Arsenal. Only João Neves retained his position.
Lee Kang-in was one of the players who started the match but was substituted at the end of the first half due to a calf injury, replaced by Désiré Doué. Reports from Le Parisien indicate that the South Korean star left the pitch in visible pain and discomfort, limping heavily as he was escorted to the team bus by two members of the technical staff.
Enrique stated in the post-match press conference that Kang-in’s injury did not appear serious. However, according to Le Parisien, the player is now considered a potential absentee for the return leg against Arsenal.
Lee Kang-in was on the bench in the first leg against Arsenal and did not play. This season, he has started in 25 official matches for PSG. The Parisians are also awaiting updates on Ousmane Dembélé, who left the pitch in the second half of the first leg due to a hamstring injury.
