At the end of Roma’s home match against Fiorentina, the stadium erupted in warm applause for Edoardo Bove, Roma’s former midfielder. This was his first return to the Olimpico since his on-field collapse in December, an incident that shocked the football world.
Roma won a balanced match 1-0, with the 22-year-old Bove watching from the Fiorentina bench.

After the final whistle, Bove entered the pitch and approached the Curva Sud (Roma’s ultras section), where fans chanted “Bravo Edoardo” and displayed a banner reading “Edoardo, don’t give up, keep dreaming” in his honor.

Although the player has expressed his desire to return to professional football in June, due to having a defibrillator implanted, he will not be allowed to play in Serie A—though the device can be removed if necessary.
Bove, currently on loan at Fiorentina, is a product of Roma’s youth academy. He made his debut for Roma under Paulo Fonseca and later became a regular under José Mourinho, a position he maintained under Daniele De Rossi before leaving on loan.
