Unlike Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool’s English star, chose to end his nine-year tenure at Anfield by rejecting a contract extension and officially announcing his departure at the end of the season.

Arnold’s departure was not well-received by most Liverpool fans. Videos circulating on social media even showed some fans burning the jerseys of the brilliant right-back in protest of his decision.

However, some Liverpool players, including Mohamed Salah, who shared many memorable moments with Arnold in recent years, despite the fans’ disappointment, expressed their gratitude for his years at Anfield through social media posts.

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s Egyptian star, who recently extended his contract for two more seasons, shared images of himself with Arnold over the years and wrote: “It was a pleasure to share a special friendship with you and play alongside you. I wish you all the best and I’m sure we’ll meet again.”

It is worth noting that Salah joined Liverpool’s stars exactly one year after Arnold’s addition to the first team in the summer of 2017. Over these eight years, they won two Premier League titles, one Champions League, an FA Cup, a UEFA Super Cup, and a Club World Cup together.
