According to reports, yesterday’s CAS hearing addressed FIFA’s decision to disqualify León due to shared ownership with Pachuca, which violates Club World Cup regulations. The Mexican club has appealed to CAS to overturn FIFA’s ruling.

After hearing arguments from both sides (León was represented by the law firm Senn & Ferrero), the final decision will be announced today. Pachuca and León argued that the clubs are owned by different entities and that the separation process has already begun.

CAS is the final authority for León’s appeal regarding participation in the Club World Cup. The case originated from a complaint by Costa Rican club Deportivo Alajuelense, which sought to replace León. Paraguayan arbitrator Roberto Moreno is overseeing the case.

If León’s appeal fails, América (Mexico) and Los Angeles FC will play a decisive match to determine who takes León’s spot in the tournament.
