Hakan Calhanoglu scored Inter Milan’s second goal from the penalty spot against Barcelona.
Inter Milan is on the verge of reaching the UEFA Champions League final. They hosted Barcelona in the second leg of the semifinals and managed to take a 2-0 lead in the first half.
Inter had also taken a 2-0 lead in the first leg but lost their advantage as Barcelona fought back with goals from Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres. However, this time, things seem different.
In the 21st minute, Lautaro Martinez, who had been injured in the first leg and worked hard to recover, managed to beat Wojciech Szczesny and put Barcelona in a tough spot. Hansi Flick’s team had chances to equalize, but things got worse in the 42nd minute when Lautaro Martinez received the ball in the box, only to be stopped by Pau Cubarsi’s tackle.
Initially, it seemed that Barcelona’s young defender had won the ball, and referee Marciniak allowed play to continue. However, after a VAR review, a penalty was awarded.
Seconds later, Hakan Calhanoglu stepped up and sent Szczesny the wrong way, slotting the ball into the bottom left corner to make it 2-0. Now, Barcelona has just 45 minutes to avoid elimination and fight for a place in the UEFA Champions League final.
