Paris Saint-Germain delivered a superior performance against Arsenal in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals, securing a 2-1 victory. With a 3-1 aggregate win, Luis Enrique’s squad advanced to the final.

This achievement seemed unlikely at the start of the season, especially after the departure of star player Kylian Mbappé. However, Enrique built a young and competitive team, earning his second Champions League final appearance as a manager.

Exactly 10 years ago, Enrique led Barcelona past Bayern Munich in the semifinals, guiding them to the final where they defeated Juventus 3-1 to claim their fifth Champions League title.

Although Barcelona couldn’t break their 10-year final drought last night, Enrique succeeded, now hoping to lead PSG to their first Champions League title and secure his second as a manager.

Over the past decade, Enrique spent much of his time managing the Spanish national team, where results were mixed. His only notable achievement was reaching the UEFA Nations League final in 2021. Now, in his second season with PSG, he has a golden opportunity to win a historic treble.

This journey hasn’t been without personal tragedy. In 2019, Enrique lost his nine-year-old daughter, Xana, who had accompanied him during Barcelona’s 2015 Champions League triumph. This time, she won’t be by his side.
