Following Barcelona’s 4-3 defeat and elimination from the Champions League, many have blamed Ronald Araujo for the failure. He had a poor performance on Inter’s fourth goal and was outplayed by Achraf Hakimi for the third. The wave of criticism has been so intense that he even disabled comments on his Instagram.

Toni Padiya, an analyst for Marca, said about Araujo: “You can be an exceptional player, but to fit into a team, you must adapt to its style. Araujo performed well under other coaches, but now he’s struggling. It’s like putting a guitarist in a philharmonic orchestra; he may know the music but doesn’t know how to play it.”

Padiya continued: “I feel the best solution for both sides is a separation. Araujo knows he performed poorly against Thuram and got frustrated. It’s not easy to endure constant reminders of your mistakes. Barcelona wants to strengthen, and to do that, they must sell players—Araujo is on that list. He’s clearly suffering in Flick’s system.”
