Salah Named Premier League Player of the Season
Mohamed Salah has won the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Player of the Year award for the third time in his career.
Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian star of Liverpool, has been named the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Player of the Year.
This prestigious award, voted on by hundreds of sports journalists across England, has been awarded to Salah for the third time; he previously won it in the 2017-18 and 2021-22 seasons.
Salah delivered an outstanding performance in the current Premier League season, scoring 28 goals and providing 18 assists in total competitions. He was one of Liverpool’s most influential players in their Premier League title-winning campaign under manager Jürgen Klopp.
The 32-year-old Egyptian international has been a key player in Liverpool’s lineup for most of the Premier League matches this season and recently ended long-standing speculation about his future by signing a new contract.
Salah faced tough competition for this award from notable players, including his teammates Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch, as well as Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice and Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. However, the Egyptian star ultimately secured the highest votes, reaffirming his status in English football.
