Florentino Perez Won’t Attend El Clasico in Person!
Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid, will not travel to Barcelona for this Sunday’s El Clasico!
According to reports, this Sunday’s El Clasico could be decisive in the fate of La Liga. Barcelona will host Real Madrid at the Olympic Stadium in a crucial Spanish league match, with only four weeks remaining in the season.
Barcelona currently leads Real Madrid by four points: a win could practically secure them the title, while a loss would keep the championship race unpredictable.
However, all signs indicate that Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid, will not be present for this match and will not sit alongside Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, to watch the game. Consequently, the traditional pre-match lunch between the two clubs’ executives has also been canceled.
Initially, the event was scheduled to take place in Barcelona’s automobile exhibition hall before the match, but the absence of Real Madrid’s top official led to its cancellation. Instead, a standing reception will be held on the VIP terrace of the Olympic Stadium.
The reality is that Florentino Perez rarely attends Real Madrid’s away matches, and he also did not travel to Barcelona for the previous El Clasico held in the Catalan capital.
