With a victory over Liverpool in the final match of the season
Historic Day for Chelsea Women: The Invincibles’ Triumph
Chelsea Women achieved a remarkable feat by finishing the Women’s Super League season undefeated. The first invincible team in English women’s football.
According to “Varzesh3,” the final day of the English Women’s Super League, equivalent to the men’s Premier League, took place today at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea facing Liverpool. A historic day for women’s football in England.
Since the inception of the top-tier women’s club football in England as a 22-team league named the Super League, Chelsea is the first team to complete an entire season without a single defeat. The London Blues will now carry the title of “The Invincibles.”
Chelsea had already secured the championship before the final match, but the Blues wanted to achieve the special record of remaining unbeaten. They had confirmed their title much earlier, in April, with a victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Chelsea, under the management of Sonia Bompastor in her first season as head coach, performed exceptionally well and today, in the final week of the league, managed to defeat Liverpool 1-0 at home and claim the title of “The Invincibles.”
Chelsea fans were celebrating from the start of the match. They had not only secured the championship but also had high hopes of breaking the record for the most points in a season and remaining unbeaten. However, today’s match was tough for Chelsea, and for most of the game, they were the better team, but it seemed Chelsea might not achieve the invincibility record.
But Chelsea withstood Liverpool’s attacks until the final moments of the match when, with the game still goalless, Aggie Beever-Jones sent the ball into the corner of Liverpool’s net with a precise and beautiful shot.
